Representatives of the National Conference of Metropolitan Courts (NCMC) and the National Association for Court Management (NACM) met for the second time in the last six months at the NACM Annual Conference in San Antonio to further discuss developing a closer relationship between the two organizations. NCMC representatives included Judge Dennis Smith, Jack Clarke and Professor Ernest C. Friesen. Principal topics of conversation were:
- The commonality of organizational purposes among both associations;
- The value of joint education programming;
- The complementary roles of Chief Judges and Trial Court Administrators;
- A desire to maintain separate organization identities while exploring areas of common interest;
- An agreement to work together to augment NACM educational programming with NCMC programming at a joint NACM/NCMC Conference in July 2014 in Scottsdale, Arizona; and
- A commitment to pursue joint educational programming of interest and value to both NACM and NCMC
